Bank Donates Staff Bus To LAWMA

Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), today unveiled a brand new 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus, for staff transportation, donated to the agency by LOTUS Bank, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In his brief speech, the Managing Director/ CEO of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, lauded the gesture, describing it as first of its kind, for a financial institution to donate a vehicle for conveying the Authority’s staff to and from work. He said, "To you, it might look like a token, but to us, it means a lot. This staff bus will relieve our staff members of transportation hassles. Eid-el-Fitr: LAWMA Canvasses Environmental Sustainability

Determined to consolidate on its ongoing efforts to rid the state of filth, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), has called on residents to intentionally work towards ensuring cleaner and livable environment, during and after the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr festivities. Embrace Waste Containerisation - LAWMA MD charges Lagosians

The Managing Director/CEO of Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni has charged residents to fully embrace waste containerisation, to aid seamless evacuation of waste, to prevent flooding, as the rainy season approaches. He also enjoined Lagosians to procure the standard waste bins, for easy segregation and perfect containerisation of waste, in line with the recently launched “Adopt-a-bin” initiative. Odumboni made the appeal on Tuesday, during an advocacy program in Agege Local Government and Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area, in continuation of his stakeholders’ meeting, aimed at educating people across the 57 local government areas in the state, on waste management best practices. The Managing Director/CEO, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, has urged residents of the Mainland Local Government and Yaba LCDA, to embrace the culture of waste sorting at source, to reduce pressure on landfills around the state.  Odumboni said this at a meeting with solid waste management stakeholders in those councils, comprising market leaders, artisans and representatives of CDAs/CDCs, where he enjoined them to look inwards for local solutions to tackle waste management challenges, including active engagement of youths for waste policing in the area. LAWMA Boss Tasks Apapa Residents on Clean Environment.

PRESS RELEASE The Managing Director/CEO of the Lagos Waste Management Authority, (LAWMA), Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni has charged residents of Apapa and its environs, on pro-active steps towards ridding the environment of illegal dumpsites, and total eradication of reckless waste disposal practices. He also urged them to raise a formidable waste policing team, to enforce that objective.
